Overview

This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains how KIWINow Techserv Pvt Ltd (“KIWI” or “we”) collects and processes information from members and users of the website, software applications, and other online services we provide (collectively “KIWI products”). KIWI products include, but are not limited to, the KIWI extension for web browsers (the “Extension”), the KIWI mobile application (the “Mobile App”), and the website located at www.thekiwi.app (the “Website”).

If we ever need additional personal information for a specific reason, we will tell you and ask for your permission. Also, to the extent that KIWI has links to other websites (like Youtube), please note that we do not own, operate, or control them, and they have their own controlling privacy policies that you should review.

What data we collect and why

In order to provide our products, KIWI collects information that you share directly with us when you use our website, extension, or Mobile App. Though you don’t have to, you can choose to provide your email to set up an account with us, which lets you connect with freelancers on the KIWI platform to service you and resolve your issues. You can also set up your profile with your name and other info for a more personalised experience.

KIWI also collects technical information about your device and use of KIWI to make sure that our products are working correctly. The information we collect is geared to providing KIWI members with a better way to connect with a freelancer and to help us develop, improve, and market our services.

KIWI does not track your search engine history, emails, or your browsing on any site that is not a website (that gives you a solution to your issue that you wish to get fixed). When you are on a pre-approved site, to help you connect with an expert, KIWI will collect information about that site that lets us know which freelancer can help you resolve this issue. We may also collect information about the issue and how would a freelancer fix it, which we can share with the rest of the KIWI community.

For authentication, we use Google authentication services. When you agree to our privacy policy, you also agree to Google privacy policy.

For completing your freelancing profile, we ask you to select a few YouTube videos. Please read YouTube’s terms of service before you continue using KIWI.

How we share your data

We know how important your personal data is to you, so we will never sell it. We’ll only share it with your consent or in ways you’d expect (as we explain here). That means we will share your data if needed to connect you with an expert to get your issue resolved and the expert is on the KIWI platform as well, or if we are legally required to do so.

How we protect your data

The security of your information is important to us. We have a team dedicated to protecting your information and have put in place physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards.

How we use cookies and similar technologies

Like most other online services, KIWI uses cookies, pixel tags, web beacons, and other markers (we’ll just call them “cookies”) to collect some of the data discussed in this Privacy Policy. These help us operate our products, analyse engagement and usage, and provide a relevant and personalised platform experience. See below to learn how you can manage your cookie preferences.

Your choices for managing your data

We’ve made it easy to opt out of KIWI’s products at any time. Simply drop us an email on privacy@thekiwi.app and request your data to be deleted.

Additional rights regarding your data

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights as to the personal information that you share and KIWI collects. Drop us an email on privacy@thekiwi.app and we’ll update you with your rights and how we are managing them on KIWI.

Data Transfers and the EU-US Privacy Shield

If we transfer your data outside of the European Economic Area, we will do so within the safeguards of Model Contract Clauses and the EU-US Privacy Shield framework.

Minors

We created KIWI for the exclusive use of adults (18 and older). We don’t knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children. If you are a child under 18, please do not attempt to register for KIWI products or send any personal information to us.

We will continue to update our policies and practices as needed. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting any changes here. If we do, you’ll see that the date at the top of this Privacy Policy has changed.
